Lazio President Claudio Lotito confirms he wants to sign Domenico Berardi, but Sassuolo ‘want more than €30m for a player who is almost 30 years old.’
The Italy international has emerged as one of Maurizio Sarri’s transfer priorities to strengthen the team in 2023-24 when the Biancocelesti will play in the Champions League.
“I’d like to sign him,” Lotito confirmed in an interview with Il Messaggero.
“But Sassuolo want more than €30m for a player who is almost 30 years old and demands a high salary. First of all, I must focus on sales,” concluded the Biancocelesti president.
Bologna‘s Riccardo Orsolini is one of the alternatives to Berardi, but the Rossoblu’s asking price for the 26-year-old is close to €15m.
