Lazio director Igli Tare assures “Hernanes is not for sale” and the team is competitive for next season with Lucas Biglia and Felipe Anderson.

The Biancocelesti won the Coppa Italia to qualify for the Europa League and have no intention of losing their top stars.

“Hernanes is not for sale,” director of sport Tare told Il Messaggero newspaper after reports of an offer from PSG.

“As far as we are concerned, he has never been on the market. He wants to stay and we want him to remain to continue winning. Football is unpredictable, as everyone knows, but he will stay with us.”

Lazio reinforced their midfield with Biglia from Anderlecht and Santos’ Felipe Anderson.

“We are very satisfied with the squad that we’ve put together. We are competitive in defence and attack, while I think we have one of the best midfields in Serie A. Now we also have players with experience like Biglia.

“Is our transfer market over? Let’s just say we are happy as we are, then if an opportunity comes along we will take it.”

Bringing in Felipe Anderson was particularly complex due to his third-party owners and the player threatened to take them to FIFA unless they helped the move go through.

“It will remain in history as the most paradoxical and shocking negotiations I have ever been a part of,” said Tare.

“These third party owners changed their minds continually. When we had everything decided, they would start from scratch two hours later. It all happened for a full week, so it felt like being in the Twilight Zone.

“Felipe’s desire to come to Lazio was decisive. He chose us in January and never changed his mind despite the efforts of the third-party owners to bring in Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and many others. This makes us proud.”
