Lazio branded UEFA’s decision to hit them with a partial stadium closure in the Europa League “deeply damaging”.

However, Il Messaggero reports how special operations division DIGOS performed investigations using the Olimpico’s CCTV cameras.

They uncovered 20 Aquile supporters committing racist acts, with six of them under the age of 18, as well as their identities through the names on their tickets.

The onus is now on the club to ensure those fans are sufficiently punished, having publicly adopted a ‘zero-tolerance’ approach to racism.
