Lazio have reportedly reached a full agreement with New York City FC for the transfer of striker Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos according to multiple reports on Saturday morning.

Originally reported by Cesar Luis Merlo, later confirmed by Fabrizio Romano and Calciomercato, Lazio have agreed to pay New York City a fee of €15m for Castellanos, who spent the 2022-23 season on loan with City Group-affiliated LaLiga side Girona.

Calciomercato details that a meeting was held at Claudio Lotito’s residence in Rome on Friday evening between the player’s agents and the club’s representatives to finalise the last few details of the deal.

While in Spain, the 24-year-old netted 13 league goals from 35 appearances as Girona finished in an impressive 10th place in their first season back in the top flight.

Before then, he had registered 49 goals from 101 appearances for New York City, having joined from Uruguayan outfit Torque in 2018.

A formal announcement is expected in the coming hours according as per Calciomercato’s report.

  1. Nice.

The lad bagged a hatrick in the 1st half vs Real Madrid in a 4-2 win if I’m not mistaken. Accurate with the head, good pace and instinct for goal and not a small lad. Will be great he can play on the LW as well and his age is bringing down the average in the side.

    Welcome to Lazio Taty 🤍💙
