Lazio have reportedly closed out the deal for Nicolo Casale with Hellas Verona following a five-hour meeting.

The Biancocelesti have been big fans of the 24-year-old Italian defender for months now, keen to make a move in the winter before agreeing to return at the end of the season. Casale is comfortable with the ball at his feet and contributing to the attack, making him a seemingly perfect fit for Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system in Rome.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio have agreed to pay Hellas Verona €7m plus add-ons for Casale, with a five-hour meeting being needed to close out a deal. Personal terms have already been agreed with the player and now only the final formalities remain.

Casale is expected to complete his medicals very soon as Lazio look to provide Sarri with his reinforcements as early as possible in the pre-season training camp at Auronzo di Cadore.
