Breakout star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a step closer to making his return for Napoli following a recent illness.

The 21-year-old Georgian winger has been one of the revelations of this Serie A season, making an immediate impact in Campania following his €10m move from Dinamo Batumi in the summer.

This season, Kvaratskhelia has scored nine goals and provided 12 assists across 20 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League, with his electric style being emblematic of Napoli’s incredible work this campaign.

As announced by Napoli, Kvaratskhelia started today’s training session with his Napoli teammates in the gym, before breaking off to carry out individual work on the pitch. He has missed the team’s last two games due to a bout of flu.

Luciano Spalletti is hoping to recover the Georgian winger in time for the Partenopei’s upcoming clash with Roma, scheduled for January 29. Napoli picked up a 1-0 win over the Giallorossi in the first half of this season.
