“Inter didn't want me after that and I ended up staying put, and I was happy anyway.
“I didn't play well the next year and maybe that's why Inter didn't want me.
“But now I'm at Milan and I want to prove that I belong in a great team.
“I just hope I don't have physical problems.
“My dream as a Milan player is to win a lot of trophies, maybe starting from the Scudetto.
“But the biggest dream has already come true, and that's being here and training while wearing the colours of one of the greatest clubs in the world.
“It was all really quick. I came to Milan, I took my medicals, I went on the pitch in San Siro against Empoli and then I was off again with the national team.
“Now here I am, with a derby to be prepared. I haven't had the time to think of anything.
“But it's enough to breathe the air in Milanello to see what Milan represent for football in the world.
“They are a club that won everything and made the history of this sport.
“There will be a lot of pressure but it's only normal that there should be greater pressure here than at Genoa.
“The objective of the season is, of course, that of returning to the Champions League, which is where a club like Milan belongs.
“I was about to sign for Turkish club Bursaspor, it was the only offer I'd received.
“The club had been in talks for a week when Milan emerged. Everything happened extremely fast.
“How long did it take me to say yes? Perhaps a minute and a half!
“My model as a young man was Paul Scholes, I'd love to become for Milan what he was at Manchester United.”
