“We scored the second time so we could avoid playing Italy,” Kovacic told Sky Sports after the game. “The Azzurri are strong, but we are a quality group.”

The former Inter man is a target for Roma, who are looking to reinforce their midfield after the departure of Miralem Pjanic, but he sounded skeptical.
“I don't know if you'll see me in Italy again any time soon,” he admitted.
