Kalidou Koulibaly is only details away from agreeing a move to Napoli, said the Genk defender’s agent.

There had already been talk of a bid for the 22-year-old France Under-20 international of Senegalese origin.

“Negotiations are proceeding well,” agent David Wantier told Fantagazzetta.com.

“We’re still missing something to finalise the operation, but talks are on-going between the clubs. We are waiting to see how the situation evolves.

“Napoli are a big club and it’s only normal he aspires to play there. The chances are very good, but first we have to specify certain issues.

“Rafa Benitez has been following him for a while now. It would be an honour for Koulibaly to be trained by a manager of that level.

“We can’t say it is done yet, but we are certainly working in that direction.”

Koulibaly is a centre-back who has scored two goals in 27 Jupiler League games this season.

He will turn 23 in June and joined Genk from Metz in July 2012 for just over £1m (€1.3m).
