Aleksandar Kolarov says Roma are confident of what they can achieve this season after beating Atalanta.
The Serb scored the only goal in a hard fought win over La Dea today, firing a free-kick under the home side’s wall.
“It was important to win today. Atalanta are a good team and play great football,” new signing Kolarov said.
“We prepared well and, by suffering, we deserved to win.
“I knew they were expecting me to shoot over the wall. It went well!”

The defender has previously played in Serie A for arch rivals Lazio and is pleased with how he is settling into life at his new club.
“I know the League, the boys know it more or less too.
“Edin and Daniele are helping me. The boss is giving me confidence too.
“We know the other teams are strong too but we are here to compete.
“We are confident for this season. We are strong even if no one comes in at the end of the window.
“We need to go on the pitch and think game by game.”
