Jurgen Klopp insists he has never ‘seen trouble’ from fans during his Liverpool tenure, amidst fears of more violence against Roma next week.

There was already a serious clash outside Anfield ahead of the two sides’ Champions League semi-final first leg, which left 53-year-old Sean Cox in an induced coma with head injuries and two Roma ultras remanded in custody.

That reportedly prompted authorities in Rome being warned that of the 5,000 Reds fans travelling to the Olimpico for the return match on Wednesday, 1,000 were dangerous.

“What can I say? Behave? It's easy to say! Behave! It's common sense,” Klopp said at a Press conference.

“You want to be safe. I never saw [trouble from fans] since I have been here. The game on Tuesday showed the beauty of the game.

“[It also] showed the ugliest face of parts of the game. I heard first time about it, I cannot describe my emotions in English.

“It should never happen again. We have to ensure that it will not happen. It is unbelievable that something like that can happen.

“We have all our thoughts and prayers with Sean and his family at the moment. I’ve never experienced something like that.

“But how I see it, it's all about football and only football. I never understood people who don't understand that.

“I hope everybody involved in safety does their best. I ask for responsibility.”
