“What I know is that Roma bought 90 per cent of my contract and we are working out the final details. A loan to Perugia is a possibility and I think the most likely option right now.

“At this moment I feel conflicting emotions. On the one hand, I am sad to be leaving my country and the club I’ve always supported. On the other, this represents a big leap forward for my career. I will play in Europe, in one of the most important Leagues in the world.

“It is a dream for me to play in Italy. I had some Italian lessons, but I didn’t have much time between training and matches. I’m sure I will settle in quickly. My father is coming with me and will be my support at the start, at least.”
