Milan midfielder Franck Kessie reportedly received racist abuse from Inter fans during Sunday’s defeat in the Derby della Madonnina.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, supporters belonging to Inter’s Curva Nord at San Siro targeted Kessie with monkey noises.

The newspaper writes the chants came in ‘the first quarter of an hour’ and could have ‘destabilised’ the Ivorian, who was later involved in a bust-up with teammate Lucas Biglia after he was substituted.

Curva Nord ultras have already come under fire this season, subjecting Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly to racist abuse on Boxing Day.

It would also contradict the Nerazzurri’s anti-racism initiative ‘BUU’ – aimed at tackling discriminatory abuse by encouraging people to write the abbreviation instead of saying it out loud.
