Franck Kessie sealed a last-gasp Atalanta victory over Roma and confirmed now they are “looking towards Europe.”

The Giallorossi had taken the lead with a Diego Perotti spot-kick, but Mattia Caldara and a Kessie penalty in stoppages turned it around for 2-1.

“Thanks to God for the victory, we must continue like this and work hard to reach our objective,” the teenager told Mediaset Premium.

“Thanks to God for the victory, we must continue like this and work hard to reach our objective,” the teenager told Mediaset Premium.

“The objective right now is to stay in Serie A, but if we can look towards Europe, then that’s even better.

“I do take penalties on international duty, so I am accustomed to this sort of pressure.”

The Orobici enjoyed their fifth consecutive victory and have now beaten Napoli, Inter and Roma on home turf.

Gian Piero Gasperini's side are in joint third place, just one point adrift of Roma.

This is Kessie’s debut Serie A season, but he has already earned the nickname ‘New Yaya Toure’ and with it attention from top European clubs.

“Right now I am focused only on Atalanta. At the end of the season we’ll think about the rest.”
