Ahead of Juventus’ 2-1 loss to Genoa, Pavel Nedved underlined that he’s hoping Moise Kean can score 25 goals a season, something which seems impossible to imagine at the moment.

The 22-year-old Italian forward re-joined the Bianconeri last summer following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, joining on a €7m two-year loan deal with a €28m obligation to buy clause attached, plus €3m in add-ons. This means that his future in Turin is secure and there is no return to Everton planned.

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the debate surrounding Kean isn’t related to his future but how he’ll manage to score 25 goals a season, or at least an acceptable amount for a Juventus forward.

The 22-year-old Kean has only scored five goals in 30 Serie A appearances this season and the most he’s ever scored in a single league campaign came last season, when he scored 13 for Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italian forward will have to transition into being a clinical wide forward as there’s little chance now that he’ll displace Dusan Vlahovic in the centre of the attack.

  1. Yeah he missed a wide open netter. But this guy never plays and when he plays he plays 15 minutes tops every 5 games. How’s he supposed find any consistency that way? I wonder how he was able to score 13 goals in Ligue 1 last year.

  2. It is not fair to compare his goals to games ratio. He is often substituted late in games. He is only 22. I believe he will turn into a great forward with the right coach and system.

  3. ideal sub for vlahovic.
can also partner him when needed.
more minutes next year and he’ll prove his worth.

  4. That open goal miss and the header from a few yard out is on him and he has to take full responsibility regardless of being seldom used. His only alibi overall is PhD Max and the fact that he has form with regards to ruining players. Dusan is quality but is going the way of Piatek as prehistoric Max must be telling him too much about the reverse back, back, down in training.

  5. He seems to have lost all his aggression. Plus he always loses the ball. Just don’t want him to leave and become the next kulusevski

  6. Vlahovic doesn’t know it yet but he is slowly becoming a defender under Allegri’s team similar to what happened to Mandzukic. He just doesn’t realize yet that’s what he signed up for, lol. As for Kean, yes the quality is not there but at 22 that eventually comes from getting more playing time. But as a young striker he is probably at the worst team one can be at. Feel sorry for both of them actually.

  7. The 30 games is misleading. He rarely plays a full game, coming on as a substitute for minutes at a time. Give him a chance to play as a starter for 10 games straight, then we’ll see. He has the goods, just needs some confidence and consistent playing time.
