Rick Karsdorp has been named in the Roma squad for when training resumes on December 12, but it remains to be seen if he will turn up following the row with Jose Mourinho.

The right-back has not featured in the Giallorossi jersey since the total collapse of his rapport with the coach in a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo on November 9.

Karsdorp came off the bench for the final 25 minutes of that Serie A game and his sluggish failure to track back on the equaliser infuriated Mourinho.

The coach said in his post-match press conference and interviews that a substitute had “betrayed his team” with “a bad attitude” and would need to find another club.

It was later confirmed to be Karsdorp, who was then frozen out of the squad for their final game of 2022 against Torino.

Now Karsdorp is expected back at training from December 12, but it is unlikely the player will accept the invitation, considering the circumstances.

Roma are trying to sell and few are prepared to meet the €10m asking price, including Juventus.

  1. Roma saved your career and you act like a child now… Go find another club who can accept your silly behaviour, good luck with that because no club will want to have you

  2. Mourinho needs to apologize to Karsdorp. Blaming a player for your team’s inability to win can be understood but accusing the player of betraying was way over the top and unacceptable.

  3. A few players this season need to apologise to the fans and I agree, the manager shouldn’t name anyone or blame anyone. Not while trying to build a team mentality
