Salernitana injuries are piling up ahead of the return of Serie A football, as they are scheduled to play Milan on January 4.

Their fixture will be the very first of 2023, as it is due to kick off at 11.30 GMT on Wednesday January 4 at the Stadio Arechi.

However, coach Davide Nicola has some problems to deal with after today’s 3-0 friendly defeat to Fenerbahce in Turkey.

Goalkeeper Luigi Sepe and Italy international wing-back Pasquale Mazzocchi were already out of action, while Antonio Candreva will be suspended for that Milan game.

Midfielder Giulio Maggiore then sustained a muscular issue during the match with Fenerbahce and was in tears as he was carried off by medical staff.

It seemed to be a left thigh strain, which if confirmed would mean several weeks on the sidelines.

Defenders Matteo Lovato and Norbert Gyomber are also dealing with long-term injury concerns for Salernitana.
