Milan’s signing of Pierre Kalulu from Lyon is another example of the Rossoneri’s impressive transfer market moves, which are proving key in the title race this season.

The 21-year-old French defender was signed in September 2020 from Lyon in a deal worth around €450,000, with the Rossoneri having to paying a development premium. The serious injury to Simon Kjaer saw him quickly promoted to the first team and he has not disappointed, scoring a key goal in the 1-0 win over Empoli yesterday.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Kalulu is one of the most exciting young defenders in Serie A currently, combining explosiveness, the ability to defend in the open pitch and being good in the build-up play.

The Frenchman is now worth around €20m, being yet another strong move in the transfer market by Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. He has proved decisive following the season ending injury to Kjaer, helping to keep the defence rock solid.

Milan want to reward Kalulu’s strong start in Italy and they plan to extend his contract by one year at the end of this season, keeping him in the Lombardy capital until 2026 and increasing his salary a little.

  1. He is 20 y.o can play both rb and cb, and with how he has play so far he is worth around €30m,
Imagine if he’s playing in pl he might be valued at €50m at least, even some wood like McGuire worth more than him?
