Pierre Kalulu began training with the rest of the Milan squad on Tuesday morning as Stefano Pioli and his team conducted the final preparations before the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Napoli on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old defender has not been involved with the Rossoneri since picking up a calf injury since returning early from international duty with France U-21 in March.

The Frenchman was greeted with a handshake by technical director Paolo Maldini as il Capitano made his way around the Milan players a few moments before the session began.

Tuttomercato reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the only senior player not involved in Milan training this morning as he continues to recover from an injury set-back he picked up while away with Sweden.

Even if the influential Swede were fit, Pioli would not have been able to select him for the quarter-final against Napoli as the 41-year-old was not included in the Champions League squad for the second half of the season.

The Rossoneri coach therefore has a full selection of players eligible to play in the competition to choose from on Wednesday night.

The same cannot be said for opponents Napoli, who are without top scorer Victor Osimhen and regular back-up option Giovanni Simeone.

Kick off at San Siro on Wednesday evening is at 20.00 UK time.
