Nikola Kalinic bagged a decisive brace on his first Serie A start for Milan, and had a third disallowed via VAR, to beat Udinese 2-1.

The Rossoneri already got straight back on track after last weekend’s 4-1 defeat to Lazio, winning 5-1 in the Europa League away to Austria Vienna.

Despite large-scale squad rotation from Vincenzo Montella, they didn’t miss a beat and got all three points at San Siro in front of 50,000 fans.

VAR played an important part this afternoon, as Kevin Lasagna and Kalinic both saw goals disallowed for offside using the technology.

Kalinic got his first Serie A start in a Diavolo jersey and made an immediate impact, bundling over the line from close range twice.

Lasagna did get one back for Udinese, a gift of a pass from Alessio Romagnoli, but Gianluigi Donnarumma held out to secure the spoils.
