Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has no plans of transforming Kaka into a deep-lying playmaker. “I’ll continue as an attacking midfielder,” said the Brazilian.

There were suggestions that Allegri was thinking about using the player in front on the defence after fielding him there in a recent friendly.

“We tried something out in Switzerland, but it was only a test,” Kaka said when asked if he was about to follow in the career footsteps of Andrea Pirlo.

“I will continue to play as an attacking midfielder,” added the summer signing from Real Madrid. “The Coach and I agree about that.”

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani also rejected the idea of a tactical switch for the former Golden Ball winner.

“Kaka will not play in front of the defence because Coach Allegri wants to keep him upfront,” the official stated.

“It was just an experiment on Saturday. In principle he will still be a playmaker.”
