Despite the Rossoblu midfielder admitting he was happy in Sardinia and even denying President Massimo Cellino’s recent claims that he wants to leave, his club are understood to be in negotiations with Juve over a possible transfer.
The Belgian midfielder’s form in the past 18 months has reportedly attracted a lot of interest, and the Bianconeri were originally thought to face possible competition in the form of CSKA Moscow.
However, this week saw Cellino reportedly confirm that the club have a ‘moral agreement’ in place to sell the player to Juve.
Details of those negotiations for the €15m-valued midfielder have now emerged. According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Old Lady are prepared to pay €10-12m as a fee for the 23-year-old and also hand over a number of players.
Specifically, Cagliari will be given an option in the summer on Ciro Immobile, who is currently on loan with Pescara, a possible loan deal for this season for Cristian Pasquato, who is likely to be recalled from Lecce, and co-ownership of Cesena’s Marco Parolo.
It is understood that Parolo, a target for both Juve and Cagliari, would be bought by the Turin side and immediately handed over in a joint-ownership deal as a sweetener for the Nainggolan transfer.
It is also reported that Albin Ekdal, currently on loan at the Sant’Elia from Juve, would make his move permanent, whilst other reports also list striker Luca Toni as a possible makeweight in negotiations.
