Juventus will reportedly assess the physical condition of Julian Draxler before opening negotiations with Schalke 04.

Bianconeri sporting director Fabio Paratici is in Germany to secure a trequartista, with Draxler believed to be the main objective, ahead of Mario Gotze and Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne, who La Stampa believes would be too expensive.

Calciomercato, meanwhile, believes Draxler’s injury history, which saw him make just eight Bundesliga starts last season are a concern to the Old Lady.

Paratici will therefore seeks assurances about the fitness of the 21-year-old, and seek to agree a deal with the player before approaching his club.

The website believes Juve’s initial offer will be around €25m, though they are now willing to take the player outright, rather than on loan with an option to buy.

For their part, the German side are likely to ask €35m for one of their star men.
