The club have since offered an update on the player, only confirming that he has returned from playing with Chile with a muscular problem to the posterior region of the right thigh.

Juve also add that the player has rested from training today and is set for diagnostic tests on this new injury over the course of tomorrow ‘to assess his readiness for upcoming matches’.

The Bianconeri host Udinese on Saturday night, before beginning their Champions League group stage campaign at home to Malmo next Tuesday, and then travelling out to Milan the following weekend.
