Douglas Costa resumed training yesterday after a lengthy lay-off, but probably won’t be risked from the start.

This means the only wide players available are Joao Cancelo and Leonardo Spinazzola.

The Corriere dello Sport outlines three potential starting XIs that Max Allegri could adopt, starting with a 3-5-2 that has Cancelo moved to the left and Federico Bernardeschi out wide on the right.

If that were the case, Paulo Dybala would be battling with Mario Mandzukic for the role alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Allegri has said Martin Caceres is unlikely to be used as an attacking full-back, but that remains an option for the 4-3-3 with Federico Bernardeschi taking control down the right.

In this case, Dybala would be the favourite ahead of Mandzukic for a more mobile front three.

Finally, a 4-2-3-1 could go all-out attack with Bernardeschi, Dybala and Mandzukic supporting Ronaldo in the centre-forward role.

This would mean dropping a midfielder, most likely Miralem Pjanic, to provide better protection to the back four.

Possible line-ups

Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini; Bernardeschi, Emre Can, Pjanic, Matuidi, Cancelo; Ronaldo, Mandzukic

Juventus (4-3-3): Szczesny; Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini, Cancelo; Emre Can, Pjanic, Matuidi; Bernardeschi, Dybala, Ronaldo

Juventus (4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini, Cancelo; Emre Can, Matuidi; Bernardeschi, Dybala, Mandzukic; Ronaldo
