Arkadiusz Milik was frozen out of the Napoli squad at the end of 2020 as he didn’t want to extend his contract with the Partenopei and will be looking for revenge in tonight’s game at the Stadio Maradona.

The Poland international returned to Serie A last summer, joining Juventus on loan with an option to buy from Marseille.

The 28-year-old is Juventus’ best scorer this season, along with Dusan Vlahovic, with seven goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.

Back in 2020-21, he was frozen out of the Napoli squad for five months as he had refused to extend his expiring contract with the Partenopei. He didn’t play a game for Napoli before joining Marseille in the January transfer window.

In February 2021, less than a month after his transfer to France, he trolled Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis on Instagram on Valentine’s Day, posting this Instagram story.

The Poland international will be hoping to follow in Gonzalo Higuain’s footsteps tonight as he is expected to start in a key Serie A clash between the Partenopei and Juventus at the Stadio Maradona.

The former Argentina international scored six goals against Napoli as a Juventus player after his €90m to the Allianz Stadium in 2016.

However, that was a direct transfer from Napoli to Juventus, while Milik spent one and a half years at Marseille before joining the Partenopei’s harshest rivals.
