There are growing reports that Juventus will not try to sign director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli unless Napoli release him by the end of play tomorrow.

The Bianconeri have chosen Giuntoli for some weeks already and the rumours of their interest goes all the way back to November.

He is under contract with the Scudetto winners until June 2024 and President Aurelio De Laurentiis has been dragging his heels over releasing the transfer guru for his arch rivals.

Juve face a problem, as if they only register him after July 1, then they will have to request special permission to put him in charge of their transfers.

According to Juve specialist reporter Giovanni Albanese, the Bianconeri are not prepared to take that step.

They are therefore warning Napoli that if Giuntoli is not free to join them by the end of June 30, the club will look elsewhere and probably run their transfer strategy with the figures they have in-house.

It could create an issue for Napoli, as Giuntoli is clearly no longer part of their plans and was not even present at the press conference for new coach Rudi Garcia.
