The news of Paulo Dybala’s latest injury, his sixth of the season so far, has raised further question marks about his Juventus future, because he’s missed 13 games already this term.

Coach Max Allegri announced in today’s press conference that La Joya would also miss Sunday’s Serie A meeting with Spezia.

He had been expected to make his comeback from yet another muscular problem, but suffered a relapse in training on Friday.

That was the sixth different injury that Dybala has sustained in the 2021-22 season.

They are rarely serious lesions, it is more a stop-start pattern of brief returns and new setbacks that mean he can never put together any consistent performances or regular playing time.

With his contract set to expire on June 30 and reports Juventus have decided to offer a lower salary than the originally-agreed €10m per season plus bonuses, his future remains in doubt.

It is no surprise to anyone that the Bianconeri decided the contract proposal should have a lower set figure and the rest be linked to performance-related bonuses.

That means if Dybala’s injury worries continue and he makes relatively few appearances in future, the club won’t have to pay as much out in terms of salary.

It’s enough to make a big difference, considering Dybala missed 25 games between 2015 and 2020, but last season skipped 21 due to injury and so far this term has already been ruled out of 13 competitive matches.

  1. Sounds perfectly fair to me. In any other job you can’t go on missing days continuously without repercussions. After all, it is not like they are offering him peanuts in the adjusted contract.

  2. Yeah but its far away from fair. This is happening for some time now, luckily juve won those scudetti. He is not running like he did before

  3. Look at your bloody medical department!!! How does a team have so many injuries? It’s not normal.

  4. I never say that Dybala is bad player, he is really skilfull and sometimes is magical (two times every season), but I very hope that he will find a team who will pay him 10 millions per 20 games played every season… Juve cant make such mistake to give him contract, he is not worth 5millions from our pocket, but there is couple of teams who can pay anything he wants and hope he will get this cheque

  5. do not afraid of losing player like dybala, juve must focus to find player who is younger, quicker and more team player than him and of course with lower salary

Juve only need to see barcelona who are now without messi and gradually they do much better in term of game play, of course juve need to do it with a more fitting coach too

  6. Messi never been a good player, simply xavis iniestas and barsas baby, ballon dor owner and we see his numbers just left barsa and you see he have 2 goals instead of 35 goals in end of season, I ways knew there is TOTAL fake,

  7. @Homer It’s not the medical department that’s at fault. It’s 1) the players being prone to muscly injuries (e.g. Ramsey, Khedira) and 2) Allegri’s training staff. Back in Allegri’s first tenure there was a season where Juve had ~60 injuries total. For comparison Napoli only had 3 injuries up to that point. Over the summer, management fired all the doctors and brought new ones. Next season, Juve still had tons of muscle injuries. The situation wasn’t that bad the previous two seasons under Sarri and Pirlo. It was mostly covid cases. Now Allegri and his staff is back and Juve once again has become a hospital.

  8. Very easy to explain the injury issues this season. Under Sarri and Pirlo, training is like a ****.
All the clubs want to sign Dybala have to reconsider, 29 years old, 4 years 10m net salary +10m signing on fee cost 80-90m totally and almost impossible to sell.
Juventus’s offer is one of the best he could get. Juven could either sign Zaniolo or a pace winger to play with Dusan and Chiesa. If a player like Pogba or Verrati is signed, we can be straight back to the elite in Europe.

  9. Talented player, but far too hot and cold and injury prone.

Might be time to let him go.

Just once they’re not silly enough to spend the same on that sunshine player, Pogba.

  10. he will be never improving his play anymore and with so many injuries, he is finish.
we needs a better midfielders than rabbiot and Arthur.
a number 6 as good as tonali, and a box to box as good as locatelli, maybe a fagioli, a miretti, a ranocchia, a rovella?
but with allegri never trust juve own academy, it probably won’t happen.

dybala didn’t change the games anymore, i don’t know what we still waiting for from him.

  11. It’s either the medical and fitness staff or Allegri’s well known harsg training regimes.

Either way, this is something the management needs to address urgently.

  12. He is not going to suddenly get LESS injury prone at the age of 30. Although he is a technically gifted player, it really is time for Juve to accept that he just int fit enough. He is desperately needed RIGHT NOW in UCL and in the league and he is injured.
Best idea is to put the trust in a young player who will offer energy, less injury trouble… and play at a lower salary too!

  13. @THE MASTER. Is it Alegri that causes injuries? if so, how has he won so many league titles and reached 2 UCL finals? Maybe the high level of fitness is needed in order to actually win.
As for Dybala, he was injured around the time of the UCL last 16 under the tenure of Pirlo and Sarri as well. Every year it happens.
