After his future in Turin was confirmed, Juventus are now planning to start negotiating a new contract with Federico Chiesa, reports suggest.

The 25-year-old Italian forward was not considered unsellable in the Piedmont capital this summer and was heavily linked with a move away, with Aston Villa in particular working to try and bring him to the Premier League.

Ultimately, Chiesa ended up staying with Juventus and immediately responded in their season opener against Udinese, finding the back of the net after just two minutes in a 3-0 win.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Chiesa only has two years left on his contract with Juventus and the club do not want to be caught in an awkward position, so in the coming months they’ll work on a new contract for the winger.

The player himself is keen to prove himself in Turin after his cruciate ligament rupture last year and an extension could give him a key boost in confidence, allowing him to return to his previous levels.
