Massimiliano Allegri hopes Paulo Dybala will return to action ‘as soon as possible’, but the Argentinean striker could miss the upcoming Champions League match against Chelsea.

Dybala didn’t travel with the team to Rome where the Bianconeri beat Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio 2-0 on Saturday.

“Right now, Paulo is not with us. Hopefully he will return to action soon,” Allegri told DAZN after the game.

“He is a player with a lot of strength in his legs and of course, when he plays, we need to be more covered in defence. The important thing is that he feels well when he returns.”

La Joya had returned from international duty with a calf injury and wasn’t even included in the team for the away clash against Lazio.

According to Tuttosport and Tuttojuve, Dybala will likely miss the upcoming Champions League match against Chelsea on Tuesday.

The Bianconeri are the group leaders with a three-point leave over Thomas Tuchel’s side and won the reverse fixture in Turin in September.

Dybala also missed that game with a thigh injury.

The Argentinean striker has already skipped six games out of 16 due to injuries but is Juventus‘ best scorer this season with six goals in 11 appearances.

The 28-year-old could return to action next weekend when the Old Lady hosts Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium.

  1. We should have sold him when his value was still quite high. I would not renew his contract and for more money is crazy as injuries will be a big part of his career now. If he walks for free this demonstrates yet again that our hierarchy do not know how to manoeuvre on the market. Sell him, De Ligt, Ramsay, Rabiot, Bentancur, Sandro, Kulusevski, Danilo, De Sciglio, Rugani and a few more and totally rebuild from the beginning. If that means no scudetto next year I am fine with that as there is too much dead wood to mount a legitimate challenge anyway.
