The pair are competing for the Scudetto, and go head-to-head in Turin on Saturday, with Maurizio Sarri’s side holding a two-point lead.

Calciomercato reports that the pair are also set to do battle off the pitch, as both are interested in Dutch prodigy Klaassen.

The 22-year-old has seven goals and seven assists in the Eredivisie so far this season, and Napoli expressed interest in January.

The Dutch side knocked them back, but sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is believed to have spoken with the player’s agent, Soren Lerby – who also represents Dries Mertens – about a summer switch.

However, the Bianconeri are also keen to bring Klaassen to Italy, having followed him since the Aegon Future Cup in 2010, where he was named player of the tournament.

It’s thought Ajax would ask for somewhere between €12m and €15m for the attacking midfielder, who is under contract until 2019.
