Claudio Marchisio has named Roma as Juventus’ biggest challengers in the fight for the 2013-14 Scudetto.

The Old Lady began the campaign as favourites to win a third straight title, but the Giallorossi have started the season with seven wins out of seven.

“Looking at things in the long term, I fear Rudi Garcia’s side more than anyone else,” the midfielder told the Corriere dello Sport.

“They’ve not changed too much, they’ve added quality players and you can see that the Coach is getting the best out of them.

“Roma don’t have any European commitments this season and they want to hit back after two disappointing campaigns.

“Perhaps they have more hunger than us and that is why we will need even more focus and the desire to win.”

Roma may have a 100 per cent record, but Napoli and Juventus are only two points behind them in the standings.

“We’ll have to see whether Roma can keep up this pace, whereas Napoli, as shown over the last few seasons, will maintain an important rhythm until the end.”

Serie A will resume in Week 8 after the international break with Roma-Napoli and Fiorentina-Juventus.
