Giorgio Chiellini and Paulo Dybala should be available against Villarreal, but Leonardo Bonucci is expected to miss the game, while Denis Zakaria will return after the break.

Juventus medical staff is busy as several players are currently on the treatment table. Two of them, Federico Chiesa and Kaio Jorge, have been ruled out for the rest of the season due to knee injuries. Massimiliano Allegri said last week that Weston McKennie would likely return in 2022-23 because of an ankle injury.

Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Paulo Dybala and Denis Zakaria also missed Saturday’s Serie A clash against Sampdoria, but Chiellini and Dybala are close to returning to action.

Goal.com’s Romeo Agresti reports that the veteran defender and the Argentinean striker should be available on Wednesday when Juventus host Villarreal at the Allianz Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiellini could get the nod at centre-back, while Dybala may start on the bench.

Bonucci, on the other hand, won’t return before the next home game against Salernitana, while Zakaria will return after the break. This also means that both Chiellini and Bonucci will be available for Italy’s World Cup play-offs.

  1. @Juvenesia u couldn’t be more right, Juve kept more cleansheet without him. Rugani is way more solid this season. And if Bonucci return for Italy he will be their downfall.
