It’s reported that Juventus’ €15m offer for Axel Witsel was rejected by Zenit St Petersburg, who want €22m.

It was reported earlier today that the Bianconeri had submitted an offer for the Belgian international, as they seek reinforcements in midfield.

However, given that Witsel’s contract expires at the end of the season, Juve are unwilling to offer anything about €17m.

The player has already agreed to join the Old Lady, so if a deal can’t be found with Zenit he will arrive in Turin for free next summer.

Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that the latest offer for Chelsea’s Juan Cuadrado is a loan which becomes permanent after a certain number of appearances.

Juventus have been trying to bring the winger back, and it was reported earlier that the English club were now open to the possibility.
