Parma have distanced themselves from wild links with Juventus strikers Marco Borriello and Fabio Quagliarella.

The futures of both players in Turin are in doubt as Borriello is only on loan from Roma, while Quagliarella is struggling to get a regular game.

Parma sporting director Pietro Leonardi, however, has quickly dismissed the possibility that either player could arrive at the Tardini in the summer.

“We can’t afford players with their salaries,” the official told Teleducato. “We are a club who have to be good at bringing in talented players at a low cost.”

The Gialloblu underlined that stance when they netted Fabio Borini on a Bosman free transfer in the summer from Chelsea.

“Nobody said anything about him in the summer, now it is easy for people to talk…”

Borini was immediately sent out on loan to Roma where he has been a massive success this term. So much so that the Giallorossi bought a 50 per cent share in him in January.
