Juventus’ Curva Sud will be opened for the upcoming Serie A game against Napoli after the FIGC Court of Appeal overturned the initial decision to close certain parts of the Allianz Stadium.

The initial decision was made in the aftermath of Juve’s hostile Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter, during which Romelu Lukaku was subject to racist abuse from certain individuals in the stands.

It had been ruled that the Curva Sud area of the Bianconeri stadium would close for the next domestic home game, which happens to be against the Serie A league leaders on Sunday evening.

However, after a successful appeal from Juventus and the club’s legal department, the FIGC has ruled that all areas of the stadium will be opened for Sunday’s important league fixture.

“After hearing the lawyers Maria Turco and Luigi Chiappero for the complainant, Dr. Luca Scarpa on behalf of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office pronounced the following:

“Acceptance of the complaint and, in reform of the contested decision, annulment of the sanction imposed. Communication to the relevant parties will be arranged through PEC.”

Juventus face Napoli at home on Sunday evening as the Old Lady looks to improve on their current seventh place ranking in Serie A.

Another crucial hearing is currently underway for Juventus and a verdict regarding the appeal of the club’s -15 point deduction in Serie A is expected later today.
