Juventus and Galatasaray have moved closer to agreeing a deal for Wesley Sneijder, according to reports.

The Dutch playmaker has been heavily linked with the Bianconeri in recent days, and the player’s agent had intimated that his client would be open to a return to Serie A.

However, last night Galatasaray’s vice-President insisted that the former Inter man would not leave unless Juve met his €20m release clause.

Now the Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Gala have softened their stance after a meeting with Sneijder’s agent.

The sports daily believes that after it Guido Albers made clear that the Dutch international would like to join the Old Lady, the Istanbul giants are now looking for a fee closer to €10m.

The newspaper states that while that is still in excess of the €7m Juventus are willing to pay, the gap between valuation and asking price is no longer unbridgeable, and a deal has moved significantly closer.
