What you need to know: The Blaugrana have been one of the top sides on the continent for the past decade, but are rocking after the departure of Neymar this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain activated the Brazilian’s release clause to take him to France for €222m, and suddenly the Barça first XI looks shakier than it’s been in years.

Juventus knocked Lionel Messi and co out of last year’s Champions League, taking a 3-0 aggregate victory in the quarter-finals.

Previous meeting: Barcelona 0-0 Juventus [2016-17 Champions League]

Olympiakos

Country: Greece

Best Champions League/European Cup result: Quarter-finals [1999]

What you need to know: Olympiakos are a familiar foe for the Bianconeri, having met them in the group stages in 2014-15.

The Greeks took a shock victory in Athens, but a 3-2 defeat in Turin allowed the Old Lady to go through in second place behind Atletico Madrid.

Olympiakos’ best run in the competition came in the 1998-99 season when they reached the quarter-finals, losing 3-2 to Juve on aggregate.

Previous meeting: Juventus 3-2 Olympiakos [2014-15 Champions League]

Sporting CP

Country: Portugal

Best Champions League/European Cup result: Quarter-finals [1983]

What you need to know: Sporting reached this season’s Champions League by finishing third in the Primeira Liga, behind Benfica and Porto.

Last season’s Champions League campaign was a disappointment, with the Lisbon club losing five of their six games, the only consolation coming in the form of a 2-0 home win over Legia Warsaw.

Coach Jorge Jesus reached two Europa League finals with Benfica in 2013 and 2014, beating Juventus in the semi-final in the latter year.

The name of the club is a bone of contention for fans – it's Sporting Clube de Portugal, never Sporting Lisbon.
