Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly starting to worry that Fabio Paratici’s 30-month ban for artificially inflating Juventus transfer fees will be extended to UEFA and FIFA.

The former Bianconeri director of sport was highlighted by the investigation as the main figure behind the system of boosting capital gains by exchanging players for on paper far more than they were really worth, therefore making it seem as if the club was moving bigger assets around.

He was given a 30-month ban for the so-called Plusvalenze scandal – capital gains – with a request to have it apply to UEFA and FIFA jurisdiction as well.

If accepted, that would effectively prevent Paratici from doing his job at Tottenham for two and a half years.

Spurs are looking around to find a replacement for Paratici, who started working there straight after leaving Juventus in July 2021.

The Mirror claim that options include Benfica general director Rui Pedro Braz.

Of course, Paratici was the man who convinced Antonio Conte to come to Tottenham, having already worked together at Juventus, so his departure could also have a knock-on effect for the coach’s future.
