Juventus announce that Arthur has suffered a sprained trauma of his right ankle and his condition will be monitored daily.

The Old Lady announced Arthur’s injury through a statement on their official website.

“During yesterday’s training, Arthur suffered a blunt-sprained trauma of his right ankle,” the club said.

“The radiological tests performed this morning at J|Medical excluded a significant ligamentous capsule involvement and therefore his condition will be monitored daily.”

The former Barcelona man is unlikely to be available against Bologna on Saturday and Massimiliano Allegri will be short of options in midfield given that Manuel Locatelli and Weston McKennie are also out of action due to injuries. Locatelli will be forced to the sidelines for four weeks, while McKennie may return to action at the beginning of May.

Arthur has collected 28 appearances in Turin this season, delivering one assist. His contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2025. Juventus were in talks with Arsenal over a potential loan move for the Brazilian midfielder during the January transfer window, but the Gunners eventually decided not to get the player on a two-year loan with an option to buy for circa €40m.

Arthur joined the Bianconeri from Barcelona in a €72m deal plus €10m add-ons in 2020. Miralem Pjanic moved the opposite way for €60m plus €5m add-ons.

  1. He was injury prone before buying. Same with Rabiot, Khedira, Costa, Ramsey, De Sciglio and Bernardeschi. Stop buying from Swarovski!

  2. @Fate…what about Dybala, Chiesa, Mckennie, Locatelli, Alex Sandro, Zakaria, Bonucci, on top of thats who are still injured or have recently come from injury, In less than one year Allegri has managed to get everyone in the starting 11 Plus lots of subs injured, he should leave please…let’s get Zizou please
