Juventus and Atletico Madrid are trying to work out a way of keeping Alvaro Morata in Turin at a reduced price, and they might’ve found the solution.
The striker has been at Juve on loan for two seasons at a cost of €20m, with an option to buy for a further €35m, but the Bianconeri are not prepared to pay that sum and are asking for a discount.
However, Atleti cannot accept the €15m on offer, requiring at least €26m.
According to Calciomercato.com, the solution could be in yet another complicated loan deal.
His contract with Atletico Madrid only runs to June 2023, so first Morata would have to extend with the Spaniards.
Then there could be another one-season loan for €10m, with option to buy for €10m plus bonuses.
This is already Morata’s second spell at Juventus and he is eager to remain, especially as his wife is from Turin and he feels appreciated by the Bianconeri supporters, something he was sorely lacking at Chelsea.
He scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in 48 competitive games for the Old Lady this season.
