Juventus Under 23 captain Raffaele Alcibiade has tested positive for COVID-19 and the whole team has entered into fiduciary isolation, the club have confirmed.

Juventus Under 23 are due to play against Livorno this evening. The experienced defender will miss the game as he tested positive for Coronavirus.

“Juventus Football Club announces that, during the checks provided for by the protocol in force, U23 player Raffaele Alcibiade has tested positive for Covid-19,” the club’s official statement reads.

“Juventus Football Club announces that, during the checks provided for by the protocol in force, U23 player Raffaele Alcibiade has tested positive for Covid-19,” the club’s official statement reads.

“In compliance with the regulations and the protocol, the team has entered into fiduciary isolation and was subjected to a new cycle of swabs in view of tonight's match in Livorno which all gave negative results.

"This procedure will allow for all subjects negative to the controls to carry out regular training and match activities, but will not allow contact with anyone outside of the group. The Club is in constant contact with the competent health authorities.”

Juventus Under 23 had already had seven players positive for COVID-19, plus the coach Lamberto Zauli. The team had left fiduciary isolation last week.
