Fourth-tier Newport County claim Juventus will use their scouting report on Tottenham Hotspur for next week’s Champions League last-16 tie.

Newport play in the EFL League Two but nonetheless held Tottenham to a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup fourth round, forcing the Premier League club into a replay, which will be contested on Wednesday evening.

“[Juve scout Roberto Bosco] could not believe we had drawn with Tottenham 1-1 but he saw the report and said: ‘this is fantastic’,” Chief scout Paul Molesworth told The Mirror.

“He saw enough from the game and the report to make him believe that Juventus will beat Tottenham.”

The newspaper reports “the scouting masterplan” read how Eric Dier was “one-paced”, Mousa Dembele was ‘niggly’ under pressure and that Davinson Sanchez was also “seen a weakness”.

The tie gets under way at the Allianz Stadium on February 13.
