Juventus could soon contact Barcelona regarding the availability of Javier Mascherano, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims.

The summer is expected to bring another revolution in Turin with a number of high profile players apparently on the club's wish-list.

Reports from Spain had already suggested that Juve were interested in Barca sensation Bojan Krkic, the 20-year-old who Juve would apparently like to take on loan.

However, it seems that Mascherano is also a possible objective for the club given the likely departure of Momo Sissoko.

However, it seems that Mascherano is also a possible objective for the club given the likely departure of Momo Sissoko.

Mascherano, formerly of River Plate and Corinthians, only joined Barcelona in the summer after three years with Liverpool.

The 26-year-old Argentine international has been linked with Juventus on numerous occasions in the past.

Former sporting director Alessio Secco has claimed that he was close to landing Mascherano in 2007 but the deal fell through.

It's unclear at this stage whether Barca would be willing to sell and what fee would be required given that he cost them €22m less than a year ago.
