The Old Lady have been linked with a move for Pogba for several years, with links intensifying this season following the struggles of Manchester United in the Premier League.

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, also made comments last week about Italy being “Paul’s second home.”

Tuttosport now suggests that if a bid for Pogba fails in the summer, the Bianconeri will instead move for Bayern midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

The Brazilian, who was born in Italy, reportedly wants to leave the Bavarian outfit at the end of the season after seven years in Germany.

The midfielder, son of former Brazil international Mazinho, has a contract with Bayern that expires in June 2021, and therefore the club could decide to move him on at the end of the season.

Thiago would prove a more low-cost option than the 26-year-old Frenchman.
