Juventus will play Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League Round of 16.

The two-time winners were paired with Dortmund at Monday’s draw in Nyon and will be at home for the first leg, which is to take place on February 17/18 or 24/25.

Dortmund will host the return bout at the Westfalenstadion on March 10/11 or 17/18.

It’s a repeat of the 1996-97 final, in which Dortmund beat Juve 3-1 in Munich through a Karl-Heinz Riedle double and a Lars Ricken strike. Alessandro Del Piero netted for the Old Lady.

Juventus, the only Italian representatives left in the tournament, qualified for the knockout rounds in second place in Group A, trailing Atletico Madrid.

The Serie A leaders could have been pitted against Real Madrid, Monaco, Bayern Munich, Chelsea or Porto.

Former Lazio striker Riedle conducted part of the draw, with the Champions League final to be played in Berlin on June 6.
