Genoa boss Ivan Juric couldn’t have asked for a better debut after stopping the perfect Juventus start. “We pounced at the right moment.”

Genoa boss Ivan Juric couldn’t have asked for a better debut after stopping the perfect Juventus start. “We pounced at the right moment.”

This was his comeback to replace Davide Ballardini, who had in turn replaced Juric in November 2017.

“I am back to doing what I love,” said Juric in his Press conference.

“I saw positive things today and we have a big margin for improvement. I also liked the first half, as the team showed patience and pounced at the right moment, although we could’ve played with more quality.

“The lads had the right spirit and we’ve got the foundations to build on this going forward.”

Genoa’s position in the table – considering they have a game in hand to play against Milan – was not that bad, so the decision to fire Ballardini was surprising.

“It’s going to be very difficult against Udinese, as they are particularly dangerous away from home on the counter. I have confidence and we’ll be working more on self-belief.”
