Genoa Coach Ivan Juric has been handed a touchline ban for the Derby della Lanterna with Sampdoria.

The Grifone boss was sent to the stands during the 0-0 draw with Empoli, but it’s his behaviour after the dismissal which the Lega Serie A has taken a dim view of.

Today’s disciplinary report concludes that after showing “blatant dissent against a refereeing decision” and being sent to the stands, Juric “twice threateningly tried to make contact” with the referee, and was “restrained by his team’s players”.

Genoa were also fined €15,000 as, in the wake of the incident, fans threw drinks over the assistant referee, as well as throwing coins, though “without hitting him”.

On the pitch, Pescara’s Andrea Coda and Darko Lazovic of Genoa have been given one match bans for their respective red cards.

Stefan Radu of Lazio picked up a fifth booking of the season, meaning he will also be suspended, so he’ll miss the trip to Torino.
