Inter look set to miss goalkeeper Julio Cesar for their Serie A trip to Catania after he picked up an injury with Brazil.

The shot-stopper limped off at the 74th minute of a friendly against Costa Rica with a thigh problem.

“I spoke to Coach Mano Menezes and with good common sense we decided Julio Cesar is free to return to Inter,” Brazil chief medic Jose Luiz Runco told FcInterNews.

“In the past he had already suffered a similar injury, so in order to ensure it doesn't deteriorate, we consider it best he continues treatment in Milan.

“Julio Cesar will need to rest for at least a week.”

As Emiliano Viviano is also out with a long-term injury, the only option to go in goal against Catania next Saturday is Luca Castellazzi.
