The Brazilian has been paired with the Old Lady today given his lack of use by the Giallorossi so far this term.

However, speaking with Calciomercato.it, Michele Gerbino has underlined that no transfer is on the horizon.

"I've heard about the Juventus rumours, as well as those involving other top Italian and European clubs, but there has been no direct contact," Gerbino noted.

"Juan has a contract until June 2013 and he has no intention of leaving the capital. The club too, who I spoke to last week, have confirmed that the player is at the centre of their project.

"Obviously, if Roma change their mind then we'll take the necessary steps. There certainly won't be a lack of offers for a player of his ability."

The 32-year-old has yet to appear in Serie A this season despite now being available again after recovering from a right knee injury.

"There are no problems with the Coach who up until now hasn't seen Juan at 100 per cent," assured Gerbino.

"Obviously, if Juan continues to be left out then boss Luis Enrique will have to give his reasons.

"A player can't be happy if he doesn't play, it would be odd if that wasn't the case. But now Juan is well again and ready for action."
